In this weeks corporate worship service we looked at those that hunger and thirst after righteousness. According James righteous acts include works of charity as well as avoiding sins against the law of Moses. (James 2:15,16 and 2:11,12)
Mirriam-Webster Dictionary defines righteous as:
1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
2 a : morally right or justifiable b : arising from an outraged sense of justice or morality
I want to be someone that hungers and thirst after righteousness!! This righteousness comes from the inside out and is not just displayed through doing good works. It is a state of the heart and from that over-flow, righteousness is a by-product.
One of the songs that we sang really penetrated my soul! It is called "From the Inside Out".
A thousand times I've failedStill your mercy remains
And should I stumble again Still I'm caught in your grace Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control Consume me from the inside out Lord Let justice and praise become my embrace To love You from the inside out Your will above all else, my purpose remains The art of losing myself in bringing you praise Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control Consume me from the inside out Lord Let justice and praise become my embrace To love You from the inside out Chorus 2x Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out
